Terms of Use for Lost or Found

Last updated 1 November 2026

1. About the service

Lost or Found is an app where you can register things you have lost or found, be notified about possible matches and arrange a hand-over with the other party. The service is provided by Lost or Found AS (organisation no. 938 439 877). By using the app you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

2. Account and guest use

3. How the app may be used

4. Reporting, blocking and suspension

You can report and block others in the chat. We may review reported chats and suspend accounts that break these terms. An account is suspended automatically and temporarily if three different people report it within 30 days, and is then reviewed by us. A suspended account cannot send messages, register cases or send observations. If you think your account was suspended by mistake, contact admin@lostorfound.app.

5. Matches, hand-over and finder's reward

6. Paid services

7. Your content

You own what you add. You give Lost or Found AS the right to store, show and process the content as far as needed to deliver the service, for example to show photos and the description to the other party in a match. This right ends when you delete the content or your account, with the exceptions described in the privacy policy.

8. Liability

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and secure, but cannot guarantee that it always works. Lost or Found AS is not liable for losses arising from arrangements between users, for items that are not found, or for indirect losses, to the extent the law allows. Mandatory consumer rights always apply.

9. Changes and termination

We may change these terms. We will tell you in the app before significant changes take effect. We may end the service with reasonable notice; purchased periods that have not been used are then refunded proportionally.

10. Governing law and disputes

Norwegian law applies. Disputes should first be resolved amicably. Consumers can complain to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) and bring the case before the Consumer Disputes Commission (Forbrukerklageutvalget). The legal venue is Oslo District Court, unless mandatory rules say otherwise.
